Being a born and bred southerner as well as a country music songwriter who loves science fiction and southern humor, I decided to combine these elements into a short story about a redneck and an alien who find they have a lot in common. When JorG, from the planet Stubia, makes an emergency landing in rural Alabama, the only witness is Billy Joe White. When Billy Joe offers JorG a couple of beers and then discovers JorG is as much as redneck as anyone in the south, the two immediately begin to bond, and the universe is in for a culture shock.
